Privacy policy
Written to be read, not survived. If something here is unclear, email us and we'll explain it and then fix the wording.
Who we are
OnlineGamesPK is an independent publication based in Karachi, Pakistan. We are the data controller for the information below. Postal and registration details are available on request at [email protected].
What we collect
- Your email address, if you sign up for the newsletter. That's the only thing the form asks for and the only thing we store about you as a subscriber.
- Newsletter engagement — whether an issue was opened and which links were clicked, so we know which sections are worth keeping.
- Basic site analytics — pages viewed, approximate region, referring site, device type. Aggregated. We don't build a profile against your name.
- Anything you send us — if you email a tip or a correction, we keep the email.
We don't ask for your name, phone number, age, precise location, payment details, or anything about the games on your device.
Why we collect it
Your address is used to send the newsletter you asked for, and nothing else. Engagement and analytics decide what we write next. That's the whole list. Our legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form, and you can withdraw it in one tap.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent or trade your email address — not to sponsors, not to anyone.
- We don't add you to a list you didn't ask for.
- We don't send a drip sequence or a re-engagement campaign.
- Sponsors buy a slot in the email. They never receive the list.
Cookies and tracking
- Essential — remembering your language choice and keeping the site working. Stored in your browser; no consent needed.
- Analytics — anonymised page-view measurement, so we know which guides get read.
- Advertising — if you arrived from an ad on Meta or Google, that platform's pixel may record that the visit happened and whether you signed up, so we can tell whether the ad was worth running. You can decline through the banner or your browser settings, and the site works identically either way.
Meta's and Google's own handling of that data is governed by their policies, which we don't control.
Who else sees your data
Our email provider stores the list and sends the issues. Our host serves the pages. Our analytics provider processes page views. Each is contractually bound to use the data only to provide that service. We'll name our current providers if you email and ask.
We'll disclose information if a valid legal order requires it. If that happens and we're permitted to tell you, we will.
How long we keep it
Your address stays until you unsubscribe, then it's removed within 30 days — apart from a suppression record that exists purely so we never accidentally add you back. Analytics are kept in aggregate for 24 months. Emails you send us are kept for 24 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold, correct it, delete it, or have it sent to you in a portable file. Email [email protected] and we'll action it within 30 days. No charge, and we won't ask why. You can also just click unsubscribe — it works immediately and needs no account, reason or survey.
Children
The newsletter isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has subscribed, email us and we'll remove the address.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. The subscriber list sits with our email provider behind access controls that only the three of us can pass. No system is perfect; if there's a breach affecting subscribers, we'll email everyone affected and say what happened.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we do with your data, we'll say so in the newsletter before it takes effect — not by quietly changing the date at the top.
